A pack of 12 cards contains three different designs (four of each design). Christmas cards contain a Christmas greeting and Bible verse, as well as blank space for your own personal greeting. The regular artwork cards are blank inside.

Make a planned gift

Plant a lasting legacy at the Children’s Home. Theologian D. Elton Trueblood said, “People have made at least a start at understanding the meaning of life when they plant shade trees under which they know full well they will never sit.” A planned gift to the Children’s Home is like a growing tree that will provide shade and shelter for thousands of children and families. It is a legacy that you will leave — a legacy of caring for “the least of these,” and offering shelter to children and families who need it most.

What is “planned giving”? Planned giving is a term that, quite simply, refers to gifts that require some planning. The gift can be planned for soon, like stock or real estate, or for the future, like an insurance policy or bequest in your will. With a little planning, your gift to UMCH can help achieve all of your philanthropic, financial and estate planning goals. Planned gifts can benefit you by providing charitable income tax deductions, increasing your income and reducing capital gains taxes, allowing you to pass more on to your heirs while also providing a meaningful perpetual gift to UMCH. Planned gifts are a way you can make a lasting impact on the work of the Children’s Home.

There are several planned giving options you may wish to consider. Keep in mind that these are intended as suggestions; we urge you to discuss your plans with your financial and legal advisors before taking action. Here are some of the planned gifts you can make to UMCH:

  • monetary bequest
  • real property
  • gifts-in-kind
  • life insurance
  • publicly traded securities (stock)
  • charitable remainder trust

For specific questions on which planned gift options are right for you, please consult your attorney and other advisors.

For more information on making a planned gift to the Children’s Home, please email Dr. Richard Puckett, or call him at 404.327.5838. In planning a charitable gift to the Children’s Home today, you are sowing the seeds of a legacy that will last for generations. You provide the strong roots that keep our ministry strong, as we care for children and families now and in the future. Plant your legacy today.

Children’s Home Champions

Each month our Champions respond to a different specific need and are the first to know about volunteer opportunities and one-time needs as they arise. They are also advocates for us in their churches and communities. Champions include individuals, entire churches, UMM and UMW groups, Sunday School classes, community and civic groups – anyone who wants to help children and families in a meaningful way!

Many children and families arrive at the Children’s Home with just the clothes on their backs and no personal belongings. UMCH provides clothing, school supplies, therapeutic care, and other basic necessities. Our Champions enable us to go above and beyond the level of care and quality of goods we can offer to the children, not only increasing their quality of living, but also showing them that someone cares enough to provide the very best for them.

If you, your family or group want to be involved in a regular and meaningful way, and be the first to know about volunteer opportunities, one-time needs and special events, please become a Champion for our children today.

Sign up for the Champions e-newsletter here (enter your email address):

You can also sign up by contacting Alina Crews, or by simply following this Wish Calendar:

Join the Sustainers Club!

There are always more children in need of a safe and loving home. That’s why the United Methodist Children’s Home works day in and day out to provide a safe haven for abused children and prevent child abuse by creating stronger families.

Just as the Children’s Home provides a stable and reliable home for children and families, our Sustainers provide stable and reliable support for our ministry. Joining the Sustainers Club is easy – simply set up recurring, safe and convenient monthly donations directly through your credit card on our secure website.

Members of the Sustainers Club say they joined for many reasons:

  • “I can give a small amount each month that fits easily into my budget, and it really adds up. I’m proud of how much I’m able to give by the end of the year.”
  • “It’s very convenient – one less thing I need to remember to do!”
  • “It’s an easy way to have a big impact on the life of child.”

By becoming a Sustainer, you are playing a critical role in our work to provide redemptive, healing services that bring meaningful change to the lives of children and families.

A monthly gift of $10 allows a youth to participate in a fun activity each month, like a movie and pizza night.
A monthly gift of $25 can provide all parenting class members with materials that teach them how to create a more safe and loving home for their children.
A monthly gift of $45 helps a foster family with all the extra little things that pop up, like new shoes, school field trips or birthday gifts.
A monthly gift of $95 covers the cost of three counseling sessions each month with a trained professional.

How to get started:

  1. Click “Proceed to Online Donation” above.
  2. Enter your monthly gift amount in the Gift Amount box.
  3. Choose “Recurring monthly donation…” for your best time frame from the Gift Frequency drop-down menu.
  4. Enter the rest of your information to complete the gift.

It’s that easy!

For more information about monthly giving through the Children’s Home Sustainers Club, please contact Alina at acrews@umchildrenshome.org or 404.327.5854.

Items for UMCH Auxiliary flea markets

Our Auxiliary does great work year-round at UMCH, raising awareness of our programs and the needs of our children and families in their churches and communities. They also raise funds for the Children’s Home through three large flea markets annually on the Home’s campus. The flea markets are in April, late July/early August (only in the Cochran building) and October. Members volunteer periodically throughout the year in preparation for these sales. Donations are accepted for the flea market sales any time, day or night. You can leave your items on the right side of the porch of Atlanta Cottage, which is behind the Administration building (the main building in the center of campus). When you drop off your donation, you may pick up a commodity slip for your tax records, or you can stop in the Administration building during regular business hours to fill one out. Check out our calendar to see the dates and times of the next flea market.
